In the caking world, a party serving is a 2" by 2" slice. For weddings or other events where a caterer will be cutting the cake, the servings are 2" by 1".  (See below for a visual example)

What is a custom order?

Any order that is not a limited time taste or seasonal flavor is considered a custom order.  Or, if you are ordering a seasonal flavor but want it specially decorated for your event, that is also a custom order.  Every aspect of your order, small or large, is tailored to your preferences: cake flavor, filling flavor, frosting type/flavor, and décor!

How many flavors can I choose for a custom cake order?

Each of our cakes comes with a cake flavor, a filling flavor, and a frosting option. Frosting can be flavored if you're choosing a buttercream option.

Cakes with multiple tiers can have different flavor combinations - 1 per tier!

Can I schedule a tasting for my custom order?

The best way to taste our flavors is to attend one of our events!  We participate in local events, and hold a pop-up sale once a month every first Friday. Check out upcoming events in the events tab!

How far in advance do I need to place my order for a custom cake/cupcake?

For smaller bakes such as a non-tiered cake or cupcakes, we require 1 week notice. For larger bakes such as multi-tiered cakes or 4+ dozen cupcakes, we require a minimum of 2 weeks notice.  This also depends on our availability, so booking earlier is always the best idea.

Please note that, due to our commitment to exceptional quality, we limit the number of orders we take per week.  Full payment required at time of booking for your custom order.

How do I pay for my cake or cupcake order?

Seasonal flavors and limited time taste orders are paid online at time of reservation.

For custom orders, we will review your request and if you would like to book, we'll send an invoice.  Full payment is required for custom orders at the time of booking.  ​

 

 

What is your refund policy for custom cake orders?

To protect both you and us, we require a signed contract for all custom orders. This contract fully outlines your specifications, the timeline, and the agreed upon price. This ensures we're all on the same page as we create your unique order!

Is there anything else I should know about ordering a custom order with The Caking Place?

Each custom order from The Caking Place is made with the highest quality ingredients and mehthods, to give you the best taste.  This takes time, but the results are well worth it!  You can read our reviews on Google and Facebook; customers love our bakes!
